The us military is secretly developing a new generation of jamming weapons

Enter the Next Generation cell phone jammer (NGJ), a new, more capable EW system that combines agile, high-power beam-jamming techniques and state-of-the-art solid-state electronics to give wider threat coverage, greater precision and enhanced mission flexibility.

Finally, and currently scheduled to take place in 2024, Increment 3 will provide the Navy with the entirely new capacity for high-band jamming to help deal with the air-to-air threat from enemy fighters.

At the measurement locations inside the prison cell, measured differences in incident power between when the signal jammer was on versus off showed that jammer incident power levels were much greater than that of the ambient CMRS power levels. For the outdoor locations where jamming was not intended, the jammer’s incident power was measurable at 100 feet from the building. However, outdoors the incident jammer power levels were lower than the ambient CMRS levels. This was because the jammer signal strength was lower outdoors than indoors, while the ambient CMRS signals were stronger outdoors than indoors.

Variations in jammer designs and emission characteristics, structural and attenuation characteristics of buildings, and site-dependent propagation factors would be expected to produce different results for different jammer installations at Cumberland FCI or other facilities. Analysis of the jammer’s potential for harmful interference to licensed radio services, if any, outside the targeted prison cell is beyond the scope of this report.

On its own, Drone Gun Pro can work up to a distance of 1,000 meters with its directional antennas. It can be operated manually or on automatic mode, covering the 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz and GNSS frequency bands. Drone Gun Pro plans on releasing an external active antenna to cover additional frequencies. The device has a standby time of 20 hours and with continuous jamming it can last for two hours.

The Russian Ministry of Interior uses anti-drone guns to protect from UAVs during the FIFA 2018 World Cup. Moscow police received two such guns from Perfectjammer. The anti-drone guns-Dron Gun Pro are currently undergoing tests in different Russian security agencies, including the Syrian campaign.

According to the weapon’s designers, no special training is needed for the Drone Gun Pro operator, only aiming at an aerial vehicle and pressing the button to activate the suppression system is required.
