“Once the driver is detected to use the mobile phone, the low-speed mobile cell phone jammer will shut it down without affecting other passengers’ mobile phones. The system is powered by the vehicle,” said Shabeer, a computer and engineering professional.

Shabir said that India is one of the few countries that lost nearly 3% of GDP due to road traffic accidents.

“Although it is well known that the number of road accidents in India is the highest in the world, there is no research on the number of drivers who use mobile phones to participate in road accidents. We surveyed more than 2,800 drivers. The results show that 20% of drivers worldwide There was an accident with a mobile phone,” Shabir said.

Shabeeer completed the project with Wahidabanu, Dean of the Salem School of Government Engineering in Tamil Nadu, and Zubar, a researcher at Trichy National Institute of Technology. The project took nearly three years to develop.

This technology can be used in all vehicles around the world.
