GPS jamming plays an important role in electronic warfare

For now, the military applications of GPS cell phone jammer technology are mainly focused on electronic warfare. For decades, one of the principle requirements in electronic warfare (EW) has been to geolocate enemy transmissions. This has given rise to a plethora of techniques for determining location, such as received signal strength (RSS), angle-of-arrival (AOA), time-of-arrival (TOA), time difference of arrival (TDOA), frequency difference of arrival (FDOA), and so on.

In a positioning application, we have the reciprocal problem: instead of trying to geolocate a transmitter relative to ourselves, we are trying to geolocate ourselves relative to a set of transmitters. But of course we use the same techniques: GPS is an excellent example of a TOA system.

Jamming technology plays an important role in many fields

Russian electronic interference with the Finnish & Norwegian GPS networks began early September, 2017 and was decided to be kept classified by Norwegian authorities until the exact nature of the scenario was determined.

Authorities said in an incident beginning around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, inmates housed in multiple dorms at Lee Correctional were involved in a disturbance. The riot resulted in the deaths of seven inmates and the injury of 17 others at the maximum-security prison.

In a press conference on Monday, Stirling said the altercation appeared to stem from gang-related conflict over territory, contraband and cell phones. Stirling said investigators believe cell phones were used by prisoners to communicate about the riot between dorms.

As a modern communication tool, mobile phones signal jammer are not limited to communication functions. Many young people’s development of society, the development of the outside world and even the development of personality is obtained through the mobile phone. Many students are used to surfing the web on their mobile phones, checking the news, paying attention to events, acquiring information and knowledge, and their status is getting heavier and heavier among young people. It can be said that mobile phones have become a mobile encyclopedia for students. But the school did not understand the underlying trend behind the phenomenon and tried to kill it.
