The company already has a series of dedicated jamming devices, namely Mercury Blade and Ventura, but the function of the new special operation jammer is focused on controlling the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) and radio waves of 20MHz-2.7GHz. These EMS and radio waves can be used to trigger remote improvised explosive devices, or they will see other people trying to destroy the enemy’s electromagnetic communication system. The new jamming device is designed for the company-based special operations team.
Each special operations portable jammer will be programmed to counter the enemy’s advancements in electronic warfare. This includes “stuffing”, which emphasizes the degradation and rejection of electronic attacks. The company can provide a combination of directional anti-jamming alarm antennas or omnidirectional antennas, specifically for responding to threats. Part of the Kirintec team was a former operator of a high-threat situation and worked on the front lines as part of the bomb disposal community. They worked after the Boston bombings in Iraq, Afghanistan and the United States.
Kirintec general manager Roy Peers-Smith said that IDEX is the best place to launch the product: “The biennial exhibition held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) attracted government departments, companies and armed forces in the Middle East. We think this is the first performance of the year, and its appearance matches our Jammer and Special Ops.
